At the kind invitation of Professor An Jiacheng, Honorary President of the Association, Pu Hongwei, Chairman and General Manager of Purong Essence Mfg. Co. Ltd, Pu Xu, Chairman of Jiangxi Purong Essence Mfg. Co., Ltd., and Xiaohong Yu, Manager of the Purchasing Department, among others, visited Guangxi for an investigation and exchange from 5 March to 9 March, 2023.
Under the coordination and guidance of Professor An, Mr. Pu and his team inspected the planting and processing bases of star anise and ho trees in Shanglin County, Nanning City, and visited the production site of Star anise oil in Napo County, Baise City, to conduct on-the-spot investigations and gather information. They also communicated with local enterprises, analyzed the causes of problems, discussed solutions, and explored strategies for cooperation and sustainable development, leading to initial results.
On the afternoon of March 8, accompanied by Professor An, Mr. Pu and his team visited Guangxi Academy of Forestry for further investigation and exchange. They visited the provenance collection and breeding base of Duosuike and new species of ho tree, toured the exhibition hall of scientific and technological achievements, and discussed and exchanged ideas with the institute's leaders and relevant experts. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions and reached a certain consensus on cooperation matters such as directional selection and breeding of fine varieties of spice plants with great development potential in Guangxi, efficient cultivation of resources, and product research and development orientation.
